Related to: Year 2 'Living Things and Their Habitats' (particularly Weeks 5 & 6, 'The Pond Project')
Preview: Children are encouraged to explore a variety of sculpture techniques recycling simple household materials to create the fauna and flora of a pond habitat.
Theme: 'The World of the Pond'
Related to: Year 2 'Living Things and Their Habitats' (particularly Weeks 5 & 6, 'The Pond Project')
Preview: A range of songs and activities exploring musically the various trees, plants, animals and other elements in and around a pond.
Designed for the instruments to hand it includes the opportunity to create an extended, narrated soundscape 'The World of the Pond'.
Theme: 'The Badger Cub's Story'
Related to: Year 2 'Animals Including Humans'
Preview: Children are introduced to excerpts from a range of 1st person animal narratives in prose and poetry, including Anna Sewell's 'Black Beauty', before being given the information they need to create their own excerpts from the 1st person narrative of a young badger.
The project includes opportunities for drama and hotseating roleplay.
