We are developing for Year 5 a range of original cross-curricular projects which link to the new Science curriculum whilst also following the curriculum guidance for the second subject.

Theme: Shakespeare's '7 Ages of Man'
Related to: Year 5 'Animals Including Humans'
Preview: An exploration of Shakespeare's '7 Ages of Man' speech, and its relationship to other characters from Shakespeare's plays.
The project includes opportunities for performance in scenes from Shakespeare specially edited for children, and an extended writing exercise to produce a modern day
'7 Ages'.
Theme: 'The World of Flowers'
Related to: Year 5 'Living Things and Their Habitats'
Preview: A multi-media project exploring colour and texture to create a wide range of flower images. Children are introduced to the work of a wide range of floral artists including Georgia O'Keeffe, Monet and Van Gogh.
Theme: '7 Ages of Man'
Related to: Year 5 'Animals Including Humans'
Preview: A musical composition project in which children create music and soundscape to represent their interpretation of the stages of human life. Designed for the instruments to hand and suitable for a wide range of musical abilities, it includes opportunities for both improvisation and composition.
