Starter activity 

1. Class Activity:

Watch Powerpoint: 'human beings', pictures of different ages and cultures.

 

2. Class Activity:

Can the children divide human development into different stages?

 

Main activities 

1. Class Activity:

Watch Powerpoint: 'stages of human development'.

 

2. Individual Activity:

Each child draws pictures of sequence of human development (as per last slide of Powerpoint above).

 

3. Class Activity:

Watch film: 'increasing lifespan'.

 

4. Group Activity:

What factors can the children suggest may be influencing these changes?

 

5. Class Activity/Discussion:

Share ideas and draw up a composite list.What behaviours/activities should people adopt/avoid if they want to live longer?

 

Plenary activity
