Starter activity 

1.Class Discussion:

Why do we eat? How does food benefit us? How does it get to our cells?

 

Main activities 

1. Teaching Point/Class Discussion:

Recap learning on digestive system from Year 4.

 

2. Class Activity:

Watch film of food in the stomach.

 

3. Class Activity:

Watch Videoscribe: 'absorption through the small intestine'.

 

4. Group Activity:

Children use instructions and ingredients to carry out simulated digestion practical.
